The Sony Ericsson W760i is an HSDPA slider phone with a 3.2 megapixel camera and the first from Sony Ericsson to feature built-in GPS in this case using the subscription-based Wayfinder Navigator software to provide satellite navigation functionality. The device has a wealth of features - focusing on music rather than business it must be said - in contrast to say the Nokia N95 which tries (and pretty much succeeds) to be all things to all users. The display is a 2.2-inch 240 x 320 pixel frontispiece in 262 000 colours. On the back is a 3.2 megapixel Cyber Shot™camera but unusually for a 3G device the W760i lacks a secondary camera for video calling - you use the main beast for everything. The camera is hidden in normal use and is only revealed when the W760i is slid open - typical of most Sony E's. A dual-band UMTS 850 / 2100 handset the W760i supports HSDPA and EDGE data as well as GPRS and quadband GSM for international roaming.. As a a Walkman phone (being Sony) it has an excellent multimedia player. You can control the music with a rewind fast forward shuffle and playlist-creating feature and transfer tracks straight from a CD to the phone using a drag 'n' drop method via Disc2Phone CD ripping software. The Web browser email client and RSS news reader are high quality and the W760i also contains all the usual applications found in all the entry-level Sony Ericssons. In addition the W760i supports 3D gaming and has built-in motion control. Battery life is excellent if the ratings are to be believed: up to nine hours of talk time and up to 400 hours on standby.
