The LG U8380 is an attractive two-tone silver coloured clamshell 3G mobile phone. It measures 97.1 x 51.6 x 25 mm and weighs 139g - so it is small durable and satisfyingly chunky.
The internal screen has a TFT type display (176 x 220 pixel screen resolution with 262k colours); you user can also view information on the external display (a TFT 65k colour screen). It comes with a dual camera feature for video calling. There is a 1.3 megapixel camera built-in flash and you use the second (VGA) camera to record yourself as part of the video calling experience. It includes a photo album for saving photos and viewing them at any time in the future. You can also record video footage separate to a call in MPEG4 format and play it back on the phone.
The MMS service allows you to create send receive and save messages - including text with sound and either a photo or video clip - shared with any other MMS-compatible mobile phones (the vast majority today).
You can also create send receive and store emails on the the U8380 working just like the email service provided a PC.
The U8380 comes with 23 Mbytes of internal memory - expandable via hot swappable TransFlash™ memory cards. An integrated media player supports MP3 and ACC formats and video in MPEG 4 with great sound via the phone's stereo speakers. There are embedded Java™ games and you can download more.
As a 3G phone the Internet speed is fast with excellent connectivity via USB or Bluetooth (a standard wireless short-range link). The 8380 comes with a large phone book calendar alarm clock changeable picture wallpapers and picture screensavers among a host of standard personal organiser and entertainment functions.
